Pam Allyn
FOUNDER AND PRESIDENT
Pam is a leading literacy expert, author, activist and advocate for children, educators, and caregivers. She founded LitLife to bring quality professional learning directly to teachers in classrooms.
Pam is a renowned literacy educator and the author of 27 books for educators and parents, including What to Read When and the Mom’s Choice winner Your Child's Writing Life. She is the co-author of Every Child a Super Reader and Tell Your Story with Dr. Ernest Morrell. Pam is also the founder of LitWorld, an award-winning literacy organization serving children in more than 60 countries, and Dewey’s PALS Town™, a groundbreaking phonics-to-writing curriculum. She is the creator of World Read Aloud Day, celebrated across the world by millions of children on the first Wednesday of every February. Pam has received many honors for her educational leadership achievements including The Children's Village Legacy of Service Award and the Kent Williamson Exemplary Leadership Award. Pam has been recognized for her entrepreneurship with the 2025 Enterprising Women of the Year Award and 2024 Titan’s Female Entrepreneur of the Year.
A proud mother to her own two daughters and, most recently grandmother, Pam is continuously inspired by them and all the many children and young adults she meets and works with around the world.

Shannon Hickey
CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
Shannon grew up in the Pacific Northwest where she completed her undergraduate studies in Spanish and Elementary Education. In her 20 year career, she has served students, educators, and families as a bilingual classroom teacher, K-5 academic coordinator and IB PYP Coordinator serving over 1000 students and 80+ educators each school year. She received her Master’s in Educational Administration from la Universidad de las Ámericas - Puebla and is a trained consultant, workshop leader, and school evaluation team member for the International Baccalaureate, literacy educator, K-12 curriculum developer, and bilingual teaching and learning expert.
Shannon leads LitLife’s US-based partnerships and coordinates with LitLife International to design and deliver professional learning experiences for educators, students, and families. She works with advocates for evidence-based knowledge, intentional understanding, and joyful implementation of instructional best practices.

Vincent Ventura
DIRECTOR OF INTERNATIONAL PARTNERSHIPS
Vincent works with international administrators, teachers, parents and students to hear their voice and create positive change in the world through best practices of literacy.
Vincent started his career in Toronto, Canada teaching junior and middle school grades. Vincent continued his leadership and professional development in New York City as a Literacy Coach. Vincent moved to Monterrey, México to the role of Assistant Principal for Literacy (Nursery-2) at the American School Foundation of Monterrey (ASFM). Vincent has presented at the Tri-Association Educators’ Conference, American International Schools in the Americas (AMISA), and the International Literacy Association, among others.
Vincent leads LitLife’s international partnerships and has developed results-driven partnerships with schools across the globe. His consulting, training, and curriculum design work with schools includes: Austria, Bolivia, China (Hong Kong), Colombia, Costa Rica, Côte D’Ivoire, Curaçao, Ecuador, The Gambia, Guatemala, India, Kuwait, Malaysia, México, Peru, Suriname, and Thailand.

Jim Allyn

Jim has been an integral member of the LitLife team since its founding in 2002. Jim’s talents include deep knowledge of business, logistics, and law coupled with genuine intentions to build strategic partnerships that benefit all stakeholders. He oversees contracts, compliance, and IP and licensing. Jim is actively involved in creating a business structure that enables those who work for and with us to achieve their maximum potential, both personally and professionally. He believes in collaborative partnerships promoting outcomes that are high-quality, measurably effective and joyful, as all of our work ultimately impacts children.

Jo Ann Boyko
CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER
Jo Ann is a hands-on finance executive with over 30 years of public, private and non-profit experience. Her tactical expertise in financial and strategic planning, asset liability management and risk management, as well as governance, compliance and regulatory engagement keeps LitLife moving efficiently and effectively into the future. Jo Ann’s attention to detail and creativity helps LitLife offer the highest quality products and services to our partners. Jo Ann is known as a “doer" that makes a difference.
